Unlike many gay pride events around the world that have a week long celebration with opening events and a closing main event, BA's Pride is merely a very large march in downtown near the Palacio Rosada (their version of the White House, but it's salmon pink). In 2008, the march/parade was on Saturday, 1 November, as it is usually the first Saturday in November. Unfortunately, many gay guides could not pin down the exact dates of events, so many participants did not know exactly when other related events were occuring.

BA does not have a weeklong series of events, so if you do not participate in the march/parade, you may not have known BA Pride happened at all.

The pool party is fun. It starts with guests laying on chairs getting sun on the upper levels of the patio near the rear area and surrounding the pool itself. There are four cool shower cubes that allow you wash off in a free-standing shower. If you are shy about EVERYONE seeing you shower, it can be interesting.

As the crowd comes in and sun goes below the surrounding rooftops, the party decends to the lower level (near the very small bar) and is quite a good time with good music from guest DJs.

The cocktails are a bit pricey, and not always mixed well -- I recommend keeping it simple for the bartenders. But, as the night continues, that matter less.

It is certainly a well attended event and should not be missed. The hotel guests sun from 2 p.m. and the outside guests arrive after 4 p.m. There is room for dancing and the inner lounge area for relaxing. The party ends promptly at 10 p.m.
